Well since dabe will not let me comment on her site, I'll just start a new thread on it. Most of the anti drillers are using old, out dated info. That includes you *myrrander* early estimates put the amount of recoverable oil in the range of 10 billion barrels US Geologic Survey estimated 5.7 billion recoverable barrels in 1998. Furthur tests have shown that this number might be high. That 10 billion (or above) figure hasn't been current since the late 80s. Time to buy some new e...

This is a reprint from the media research center. Looks like CBS may be coming more to center on this. CBS Finally Airs Look at Chile's Success with Private Accounts Five weeks after the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather featured a story on how Britain's decision years ago to allow private retirement investing led to "a life in poverty" for many, the very first CBS Evening News with Bob Schieffer provided a balancing look at Chile's success with individual stock market investment ...

Reprinted from NewsMax: Tuesday, March 1, 2005 9:26 a.m. EST Ex-cons Could Make Hillary President If America's convicted felons are allowed to vote, it's almost certain that Hillary Clinton will be the next president of the United States. That's the conclusion of the American Enterprise Institute's John R. Lott and James K. Glassman, who note in today's New York Post that in the handful of states where ex-cons are allowed to go to the polls, 93 percent voted for her husband in 19...

Reposted from the Wall Street Journal. In Reagan's Footsteps Europe decides that Bush may be right after all. Friday, February 25, 2005 12:01 a.m. EST Visits by U.S. Presidents to Europe tend to have a template-making quality: Wilson, the peace maker, in Paris, 1919; Truman, the victor, at Potsdam, 1945; Kennedy, the stalwart, in Berlin, 1963; Reagan, the visionary, in Berlin, 1987. If President Bush's trip this week has some kind of new theme, the word for it is probably c...

BY CLAUDIA ROSETT Wednesday, February 23, 2005 12:01 a.m. EST So prolific in scandal has the United Nations become that it's getting hard to keep tabs. You can surf the channels, from rape by peacekeepers in the Congo, to theft at the World Meteorological Organization, to a Human Rights Commission crammed with despots; from inadequate auditing to botched manageme...

I have no idea where this came from. Makes me not want to watch any current movies. [quote} Hope you find this as informative as I did Be sure and scroll to the very bottom. In contrast to the ideals, opinions and feelings of today's "Hollywonk" the real actors of yester-year loved the United States. They had both class and integrity. With the advent of World War II many of our actors went to fight rather than stand and rant against this country we all love. They ...

This is reposted from The Wall Street Journal. The Blogs Must Be Crazy Or maybe the MSM is just suffering from freedom envy. Thursday, February 17, 2005 12:01 a.m. EST "Salivating morons." "Scalp hunters." "Moon howlers." "Trophy hunters." "Sons of Sen. McCarthy." "Rabid." "Blogswarm." "These pseudo-journalist lynch mob people." This is excellent invective. It must come from bloggers. But wait, it was the mainstream media and their maidservants in the elite journalism rev...

We're beating the United Nations - PLEASE HELP Your efforts are beginning to work! Our members have sent over SIXTY THOUSAND faxes to ALL 55 Republican Senators, demanding that they REJECT passage of the United Nations "Law of the Sea Treaty" (LOST) -- the OUTRAGEOUS treaty that would impose UN taxes on the American people, and would entail history's biggest and most unwarranted voluntary transfer of wealth AND surrender of sovereignty. This ridiculous treaty is the SAME treaty th...

Why should a combat soldier have to stop and think on the field of battle, "Am I going to have to defend this decision when I get home"? This kind of thinking could get our troops killed. If they have to stop and think about it that gives the enemy time to shoot first. I'd like to take the soldier that complained about it and slap the spit out of him. They are accusing the marine of "premeditated murder". To me this is beyond belief! The site is on a limited bandwidth, so be patient and check...

Why our news media doesn't ever print these stories, is beyond me. DID YOU KNOW THIS? Did you know that 47 countries have re-established their embassies in Iraq? Did you know that the Iraqi government employs 1.2 million Iraqi people? Did you know that 3100 schools have been renovated, 364 schools are under rehabilitation, 263 schools are now under construction and 38 new schools have been built in Iraq? Did you know that Iraq¹s higher educational...
