I'll tell you something that you didn't even begin to address. How many replies has mano posted? Did you count them into your witch hunt? You do realize that he gets points for EVERY reply he posts?

~takes a deep breath and prays for patience~

drmiler, the points you get for replying on other people's threads are added to your USER points, which affects your position on the JU's Top 10 USERS list. These do NOT affect the Top 10 Blog SITES list, which is the list I suspect has been manipulated. The SITES list is supposed to reflect your traffic in the last 30 days ONLY, traffic meaning HITS and COMMENTS on YOUR blog, not what you do on OTHER peoples blogs.

If you care to go read Draginols current post about points amnesty now, I think that those of you who insisted this was simply not happening (or, like Zoomba and drmiler, made comments about my mental health for daring to notice and expose what was happening) while launching attacks against ME can back right the fuck off, because he knows damn well whats been going on now, certain people have been padding their own points in various ways.

I started this analysis without mentioning names directly, drmiler, but Mano confronted me on several threads--pretty much daring me to name him--so I finally did. And since its obvious that you have no conception as to how the points system works (or was INTENDED to work, sans glitch) drmiler, I'd advise you not to step to me like this again. I've been nice to you so far because we'v always gotten along so well...but that can change if you insist.

I think its incredibly generous of him not to be promising punishment to those who have been cheating, because amnesty is usually only offered as a condtition for confession, but I DO hope he lists the worst offenders and perhaps their own public shame will be punishment enough.

Threaten me? I don't think so young lady? And then tell me I have no conception? And on top of that lock the thread so that I can't reply? Pfffft! Personaly I don't care if your nice to me or not. I do not like to be threatened in this manner or any other for that matter. Whether or not mano pushed you to name names is irrelevant. There was no reason to jump on his case like you did! This is the last straw. Welcome to my blacklist!

DrMilner... take it from someone in the 'know'.... don't push her. She pushes back and dosn't stop. As soon as my name is 'cleared' of the alleged 'crime' that she already found me guilty of, you will be the next target... don't let it go there.
Ignore her, her threats and just continue to be yourself.

Don't you guys feel silly when you do stuff like this? Once a month there is some feud that has nothing to do with politics or ideals or anything but ego. This is over what, points?

No offense, but this is pathetic, and you should have more self respect than to make an article like this, regardless of 'threats' or right or wrong.

If she locked the thread without allowing him to respond, I think he was justified in posting his own response.  I think Black Listing is going a bit too far however.

Why would anyone need to respond, really? At most it was a silly argument between LW and Mano, and I don't even think I would have responded had I been Mano.

You have to care for this kind of thing to mean something.

I don't think that she did lock the thread. It's totally out of character for her, she's not the kind of make comments and then prevent people from responding. I know that the thread is locked, but I don't think that she was the one who did it.

I really, really hate to see you guys fighting like this. Really. I like the both of you, and I have a lot of respect for the both of you, and it chaps my ass to see you blacklisting and flaming and griping about each other.

I'm not going to speak for LW, but I think her main beef with Mano was that she feels like he's manipulating the points system. I can see where she's coming from - some of his threads are nothing more than one-line responses from his group of regular readers, which is fine on his own blog....but when that carries over to other people's threads and hinders what could have been a good debate/discussion - well, then it's just plain aggrivating.

As for Mano...well, I don't know if he's doing it deliberately or not, but I do know that it's happening and that it's getting his blog onto the top ten board. I think that LW feels like his being there really does other (she feels more deserving) bloggers a dis-service. I feel sort of the same way and have done so for a while....it's not just about Mano either. There was one person a while back who wrote 3 articles and managed, somehow to get themselves in the top ten, pushing (IMO) worthier bloggers off the list. Again, it chaps my ass to see Bakerstreet ousted by a blog full of...well, nothing (like mine).

DrM, I'll say the same thing to you that I said to her: 'it's what you bring to the day.'

And we were told, by Brad no less, that there was a bug that promoted C users to the top. So why is it so hard to believe there is not another bug now doing the same thing?

I have been a programmer, and yes, I have fixed one bug just to have another appear from the fix. That is ok, and to bring it to the attention of the programmers is a good thing.

To accuse others of cheating with no proof is not a good thing. I dont care if you want to be number 1 or 3. I think the better thing to do would be what Gideon did when it happened last time. Bring it to the attention of the Admins and ask that it be checked out.

I'm not to awful worried mano. She comes after me, she better have all her ducks in a row and be ready for a fight. And she better bring proof of any wrong doing. What she was doing was just flat wrong! You do NOT bring accusations like this against someone when you do not have proof of wrong doing. And at this point all she had were suspicions, nothing more. By all means bring it to admins attention and possibly OFF-LIST mention who you think is doing it. Then let admin check on it. But by NO MEANS do you make a "public" stink about it.

This is the part that pissed me off the most.

It's not, and I'm not the one creating all the noise about it. I'm just trying to calm everybody down and stop this before bridges get burned.
