I do not know the the author of this piece. It was passed along as an e-mail attachment. Personally I found it funny and very much to the point nowadays.

Nope, .....I really don't see a pattern here to justify
profiling, do you?

So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone,
particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport
security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile
certain people. They must conduct random searches
of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with
proper identification, secret agents who are members
of the President's security detail, 85-year old
Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor
winning and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim
Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone because of
profiling.

Let's send this to as many people as we can so
that the Gloria Aldreds and other dunder-headed
attorneys along with Federal Justices that want to
thwart common sense, feel doubly ashamed of
themselves -if they have any such sense.

As the writer of the award winning story "Forrest
Gump" so aptly put it, "Stupid is as stupid does."

Come on people wake up!!!
Keep this going. Pass it on to everyone in your
address book. Our Country and our troops need
our support!

Myrrander, your mindless hatred for America is noted. You remind me of the bigots who say, "I don't hate Black people, I just...."

Interesting

myrr?? do you really hate america as much as you seem to?

There is nothing wrong with loving your country, and thinking that it is great or possibly the best, but believing that it is perfect and without sin is simply delusional.

'I just cannot see when we are under attack where posting what we have done WRONG makes it any better for us.'
Interesting response, Moderateman. But if you're claiming the right to think this way, then wouldn't some middle eastern Moslems be justified in thinking along just the same lines? However you try and wriggle out of it, Myrrander is right - you can't claim your 'quiz' to be any less arbitrary than his / hers or anybody else's.

'Myrrander, your mindless hatred for America is noted.'
If you really love your country, ParaTed, you don't turn a blind eye to its failings - that results in nothing but blind jingoism and historical / political whitewashing. Instead you confront your country's failings, try to redress them, make the country worthy of your allegiance.

I don't turn a blind eye to the failings of the U.S. However, I don't base my entire opinion of the U.S. on them either.

If you were married to someone and evertime she expressed her love for you it was followed by "but..." how long would you go before not only questioning her love for you, but wondering how much she hates you?

I don't think Myrrander hates America because he disagrees with a few policies. That is his right, and I would never question that. It is every bit as patriotic to protest a policy of the US as it is to support it. I think he hates America because it seems he can't get himself to actually say something good about her, without following it with a "but..."

But...

France does racial profiling as a matter of policy. With very successful results too, and with the full knowledge and consent of the French people.

You know France, that utopian society that liberals say America should emulate more.

on Jan 21, 2005

See Myrrander, here's the deal, I don't really give a crap whether the US did "bad things" at various times in its history.  What I do care about are people doing bad things to me and my family. And so I expect my government to protect me.  Not lamely say "Well since we did bad things to these other countries, we deserve to die."

Feel free to volunteer yourself as a human shield any time you'd like Myrrander.

And the one conservatives say should be hated and protested. Nice hypocrisy on both fronts, eh?

Yeah sometimes thats what I think when I read some of this stuff.

But anyway I think that profiling is a very effective and useful tool, and it should be utilized.
on Jan 21, 2005
I'm a little uncomfortable with racial profiling, it may be effectvie but I wouldn't want people thinking 'Oh, he's left-handed, he must be a murderer' when they see me. I really don't know where to go on this issue.

Does it make any difference that Sirhan Sirhan, a Palestinian, was born a Christian? I can't seem to find any record that he converted to Islam, at least officially. He was, at various times, a member of Baptist and Seventh Day Adventist churches, but he doesn't seem to fit the Muslim Extremist profile. Source: http://www.crimelibrary.com/terrorists_spies/assassins/kennedy/4.html?sect=24

There is no question that he was anti-Israel and he killed RFK because he felt that Kennedy was pro-Israel.

There is a difference between profiling and statistical analysis. Statistics show that the most dangerous drivers are young (under age 32...that's young to me!) and male. That is simply stating a fact. The same with this "quiz." Most recent acts of terrorism against the United States have been commited by young, Islamic militants. Again a fact.

One might infer that young, Islamic militants don't like us and haven't for quite some time, predating the invasion of Iraq. To which I would comment "Duh!"

OK

Just a thought:
I think you can and should have a focus on certain types of people, but in the end you still have to search the 80year old lady

Why?

Because they can carry the needed material to the ones who want to do something on the plane.
You see, money will make some people do anything.

For example, drug dealers know that black people get stopped on specific routes on US highway, so they hire white male to ship good and may even use black males for decoys while the real shipment gets through.

So instead of having a pattern of searching ONLY Muslims, maybe you better still search others.

Germany is NOT a Muslim country
Japan is NOT a Muslim country
United States is NOT a Muslim country
Uganda is NOT a Musilim country
South Africa is NOT a Muslim country
India is NOT a Muslim country
Great Britain is NOT a Muslim country there are more....
But, all of the above are responsible for the killing of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of innocent human beings.
Whats youre point Doc?

Okay, I'm really confused as to why Australia is in that list, we've never been under a dictatorship and the United States has never helped to remove a power in Aus. Nor have they directly been responsible for 1000's of deaths.

Trina, I don't intend this is a mean way, but you do know that Australia is founded on a genocide that killed 90% of the indigenous population? Even after the killing stopped, children were forcibly separated from their parents, the so-called "Stolen Generations," to be raised by white families in a cultural genocide. This isn't ancient history, this was happening until the 1970's.

A really good article on the Stolen Generation is at http://www.eniar.org/stolen.html

An article on Holocaust Denial in Australia is at http://robert.redrag.net/uploads/genocide.pdf (Requires Adobe Acrobat, it is in PDF Format.)
